https://www.journal.das-institute.com/index.php/ICSI/article/view/828

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays a crucial role in shaping students' spiritual and moral values, particularly at the junior high school level. However, textual learning often hinders students' creative thinking abilities. This study aims to explore the application of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) method in PAI at SMP Darul Ikhsan Pekalongan, focusing on enhancing students' creative thinking skills and learning outcomes. This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) involving 30 eighth-grade students. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and written tests. During the pre-cycle phase, initial conditions were identified through observation and interviews. In Cycle 1, students created posters about noble character values using design applications. In Cycle 2, students developed videos of the stories of Prophet Muhammad SAW, which were uploaded to YouTube. The results showed a significant increase in students' creative thinking skills, from 30% in the pre-cycle to 70% in Cycle 1 and 90% in Cycle 2. The average learning outcomes also improved from 40 (pre-cycle) to 70 (Cycle 1) and 90 (Cycle 2), with a mastery level of 80%. The project activities encouraged students to deeply understand the material, appreciate Islamic values, and apply them in daily life. This study demonstrates that PjBL effectively enhances student engagement and provides meaningful learning experiences. It is recommended that this method be consistently integrated into PAI learning to foster students' creativity and comprehension sustainably
Ryan Deriansyah

https://www.journal.das-institute.com/index.php/ICSI/article/view/816

This study aims to analyze the factors causing the rise of online gambling in society and prevention efforts from an Islamic perspective. In the digital era, widespread internet access has facilitated the spread of online gambling, which is now accessed by various groups, including teenagers. Various factors, such as poverty, lack of employment opportunities, and the influence of the social environment, encourage individuals to engage in gambling practices. In addition, the wrong perception of the probability of winning also exacerbates this problem. From an Islamic perspective, gambling is considered a prohibited act, and prevention efforts need to be carried out through strengthening faith and piety, religious education, and community development. This study is expected to provide a deeper understanding of the impact of online gambling and the importance of social intervention to protect individuals, especially the younger generation, from detrimental behavior
Ahmad Jamal RohmanM Rafli HusaeriDini NurwasilahReiza Siti AwaliaSalman Alfarizi

https://www.journal.das-institute.com/index.php/ICSI/article/view/798

The maritime industry is undergoing a transformative shift toward sustainability, requiring professionals to develop new competencies in green technology, emissions reduction, and regulatory compliance. However, training programs often fail to bridge the gap between theoretical sustainability education and its practical implementation in port and shipping operations. This research investigates the training and development needs of maritime professionals, lecturers, and graduates, identifying barriers to sustainability training, knowledge gaps, and industry readiness for sustainable practices. This study builds upon previous research by providing a structured analysis of sustainability education in the maritime sector, assessing the effectiveness of existing training programs and identifying gaps in institutional support. The study examines how well sustainability training prepares maritime professionals to integrate sustainability initiatives into real-world decision-making and explores strategies for enhancing workforce preparedness. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) and qualitative analysis were conducted, involving structured interviews and questionnaires with nine stakeholders, including maritime professionals, educators, and recent graduates. Findings indicate that while sustainability training is gaining traction, industry-academic collaboration, practical learning opportunities, and institutional backing remain insufficient. This research contributes to the development of an industry-aligned sustainability training framework, offering policy recommendations for enhancing professional development in maritime sustainability. Expanding experiential learning, digital training tools, and mentorship programs will ensure maritime professionals are prepared to lead sustainable transitions in the shipping and port industries.
Tri CahyadiLarsen BarasaNatanael SurantaMarudut Bernadtua SimanjuntakAchmad Iqbal

https://www.journal.das-institute.com/index.php/ICSI/article/view/831

Development is a complex process that has significant impacts on the social, cultural and environmental aspects of society. This research aims to explore the socio-cultural impacts of development, especially in the context of changes in people's lifestyle and their interaction with the environment. Through a qualitative approach and literature review, this research identifies various impacts generated by development, including changes in social interaction patterns, transformation of cultural values, as well as environmental damage. The findings show that infrastructure development and modernization often lead to the loss of local wisdom and traditional values, and increase individualism among communities. In addition, negative impacts on the environment, such as pollution and degradation of natural resources, also affect the way of life of people who depend on the ecosystem. This research also highlights the importance of integrating local wisdom as an adaptation strategy in sustainable development. The proposed policy recommendations include the integration of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), increasing community participation in decision-making, and strengthening environmental protection policies. Thus, this research provides an important contribution in formulating more inclusive and sustainable policies to achieve a balance between economic progress and cultural and environmental preservation.
Wika NurfuadiIsnaini Harahap
